I have been trading stocks online for more that 6 years. I still find it the best way to trade, rather than calling your broker to do the trade for you. In general the few online brokers I’ve tried, the larger banks offer the best speed but lack the technical support. It’s always nice to get a straight answer when you need to ask them how to do something. I find Citisec Online having the best technical support however each online trading site have their own advantages.
Before you decide to trade online I recommend getting at least 2 different Internet connections. I usually use PLDT and have Globe as a backup. However if your on the go a pocket 3G or LTE device will go a long way on giving access when you need it. I also don’t recommend using a tablet since these websites require a modern browser. Most of them support all the 4 major browsers (Firefox, Explorer, Chrome and Safari) I try to play it safe and stick with Mozilla Firefox even when I’m on a MAC.
In regards to opening an account each have different starting balance. There are some that allow you to start with Php5,0000, Php 10,000 and Php 20,000. But to make your trades worth it I would stick with Php 20,000 as the minimum.
